trndmsk Future Stars #41: Guzy – Deep Cosmos

The 41st edition of our Future Stars series is called “Deep Cosmos” and comes from Guzy.

trndmsk: David, what can we look forward to in the next few minutes?

Guzy: I tried to create a dark, but still groove-focused journey through the deeper parts of my electronic cosmos. For me personally, it’s filled with emotion I wouldn’t say it’s influenced by a specific feeling like anger or joy –  in the end, it’s up to the listener to decide.

When did you record the set? What surrounded you at the time?

I recorded this set a few days ago in my studio at Funkhaus in Berlin. It was a sunny day, and I spent the day with my friends Dahu and Jonas Saalbach before I started recording. I have to admit that I had already recorded the same set the day before with three additional tracks. When I listened to it, I couldn’t feel the vibe, so I ended up re-recording and dropping a few tracks. Sometimes, it’s not about the quality of the tracks, but the flow they create together.

How did you choose the tracks for the mix?

It took me a bit longer than usual this time around. I started collecting tracks after the last mix I did for Dunkelheit and thought a bit about how I could recreate that same feeling – but perhaps take it further into deeper waters.

Do you have a favorite track included in the mix?

The last song in this set is my favorite. It’s also the first one I chose for this mix. A friend sent me this track and I immediately fell in love with its vibe. Shoutout to Kandar and Morning Delusions for Colors (Original Mix).

What three songs do you tend to use in your current sets?

Yubik – Galvana
Dahu – Sedated
Strinner – Cjord

What are your near future projects?

I have a collaborative ep coming out soon on Wildfang with my friend Marc Grabber including two originals and two remixes by Tony Casanova and Sandeep. Getting ready for the festival and summer season is also on my agenda at the moment.

Are you working on any other projects?

I’ve recently started the label Radikon with my dear friend Jonas Saalbach. While it’s extremely rewarding work, it also takes up alot of my time at the moment and will hopefully do so for decades to come. We’re working hard on furthering the project and have a lot of exciting ideas for the future. I’m also looking forward to spend more time working on original tracks.
