trndmsk Future Stars #45: Lukas Endhardt – Impeachment Party
The 45th edition of our Future Stars series is called “Impeachment Party” and comes from Lukas Endhardt.
trndmsk: Lukas, what can we look forward to in the next few minutes?
Lukas Endhardt: A mix full of different colors and timbres. A little bit faster this time, but still slower than your average deep house set.
When did you record the set? What surrounded you at the time?
I recorded this set a few days ago in my Hamburg Studio, surrounded by lots of keyboards, cables and elektro-smog. And, luckily, the kids on the playground in front of my window.
How did you choose the tracks? Did you make a plan before the gig?
In this case i’ve had a few test runs and therefore knew what i was going to play. When it comes to live gigs, i usually fail when i’m prepared too much. So i try to only have one or two tracks in mind, for the beginning. Rest is freestyle. Slave to the vibe!
How would you describe the atmosphere during your performance?
I was really high and the kids on the playground were doing their thing.
Do you have a favorite track included in the mix?
Of course, at the moment i’m lost in the beauty of Chaos In The CBD’s “Orange Blank”. Love the breax, love the vibe – what a track! Also the new Frankey & Sandrino EP on Mule Musiq blows my mind.
What three songs do you tend to use in your current sets?
A track i played a lot this year and that is also part of this mix is “Blaze” by Leo Janeiro & Mumbaata. Axefield’s “Ostrich Ride To Other” is a track i’m playing for years now and never got tired of it. Last but not least i think i’m going to play out VIK’s “Like Water” (Nutia Remix) a lot.
Summer is over. What moments or festivals do you like to remember?
For me this summer was different because i lost my Mother to cancer in the beginning of May. So the months after that were characterized by a lot of intro- and retrospection and spending time with my family. With the loss of my Mom i also lost my role model as an artist – she’s been a painter – so there were many questions coming up about my own being as an artist – where do i come from, where do i want to go and does it make any sense at all?
Aside from that i also had some “summer moments”. One thing i remember is a quite magical sunrise-gig i played at the Festival “Zugvøgel Nord” in July. At the End of the day i’m more of a Indoor-DJ anyways. What i find interesting about Rave culture is more likely to be found at an illegal Warehouse Party than at a huge festival full of fancy clothes and jellyfish sticks.
What are your near future projects? Are you working on any other projects?
I’m constantly working on new own material, hopefully resulting in an EP soon. Feels like ages that i released some own stuff. Also the idea of founding an own Record Label repeatedly comes to my mind. Besides i’m working on a rather live oriented project together with Echoel and Valentin Heinrich, focussing more on classical House and Techno Sounds and less on the Downtempo thing. I really enjoy collaborating with these guys and think the outcome will be awesome, stay tuned!
